China Mini Buggy
Connection
Mini buggies, go-karts, ATVs and
other off-road vehicles from China are more common than some people
might know. It is surprising to find out how many people own low cost
off-road imports and don't have a clue they came from China. However
when their China import starts to break down they quickly learn why it was
so much cheaper then a Polaris or Honda.
The difference between top name
brand off-road vehicles and pure China imports is quality control. Unknown
to the most of the general public is many top name brand companies have some
of their parts and vehicles made in China. Now don't be shocked or
worried, the myth of junk from China is just that, a myth. China
manufacturing is just as good as ours if you pay for it. If you buy cheap,
you get cheap, it's that simple.
It works like this; An American
company designs a mini buggy or go-kart and selects a manufacture in China
to build it. The American company decides they want to max out the profits
on this product so they go for the lowest cost of mass production they can
get. The result is a low cost product for American consumers and more
profit for the company. This same company may want a better
quality mini buggy or go-kart so they simply change the level of quality
control they want on their product line. The China manufacture could care
less on the type of mini buggy they produce. as long as you pay for
the quality they will produce it for you.
Why do so many imported mini
buggies look similar but have different names? This question has been
asked by just about every buggy owner in the country. Most people figure it
out after a little research on the web. Some people might not like the
answer and we can't do much about that except try to explain it for you.
When you find a China company that
exports mini buggies and go-karts you might be surprised when you see they
also export women's clothing. The exporter is not always the
producer of the product. When you search for an exporter of China mini
buggies or go-karts is seems like thousands of companies are producing them.
The funny thing is they seem to be producing the same machines; Maybe
it's just a coincidence.
The majority of companies you find
are just suppliers, they all buy from a small amount of massive
manufacturing companies in China. Some China manufactures produce
thousands of different products and parts for a host of different companies
around the world. This is the way things are done in China and it works well
for them.
Now if we look at the American side
of the business you will see a similar picture except with suppliers and
retailers. After China Manufactures produce their mini buggies or go-karts
and sell them to their China suppliers. The American Importers buy the
mini buggies or go-karts in container loads so they get the best price.
Some container loads are mixed lots of min buggies with no name brands on
them. When they come to the states the smaller suppliers will make the
biggest purchases and provide some of the brand names for the mine buggies.
Now the mini buggies are sold to retailers under these brand names.
The exceptions to these rules are
with companies like Hammerhead, Tomberlin and other big mini buggy players.
They have a direct link to their China manufacture and have more control
over the mini buggy they want. In the case of Tomberlin they provide
the design and China provides the man power.
The biggest problem we see with
American mini buggy suppliers that sell direct to the public is quality
control and customer service after the sale. These companies are the big
mini buggy and go-kart sellers you see all over the internet that claim the
Wholesale price thingy. Yeah, you know the people I'm talking about.
The problem with these companies is
they really don't care about the products they sell or the people they sell
them to. In order for them to sell large amounts of mini buggies,
go-karts or ATVs, they sell at low prices with almost no quality control in
place. They let the customer worry about that and they often try to
charge the customer for any defective parts on their min buggy after they
receive it.
For some people buying cheap with
no customer service or product support is not a problem. Some people have
the resources and talent to fix the problems on their own with very little
cost to them. For others the lack of after sale service is a nightmare and
often heartbreaking when you see a little kid is crying in the yard because
his brand new low cost go-kart is broke and mommy doesn't have the money to
buy the parts or pay for the repair.
